Partnering in change with individuals, families, and organizations

Psychological Services

I believe in a strengths-based and research-informed approach to change. You are the expert on yourself and/or your children, and I bring expertise from studying and working for over 25 years with many of the issues you may now be facing. Together, we'll explore your strengths and vulnerabilities as they are being challenged in your current situation, and we'll set measurable goals for improvement. All of us are the products of our genetics, relationships, and experiences. In a confidential, trusting relationship, we can look at their relative contribution to your situation and identify the best ways to ensure your health and well-being at home and work.

Psychological services include: individual therapy for adolescents and adults, family therapy, group therapy, parent consultation, divorce consultation, and psychological testing for children 17 and under.

Collaborative Divorce Coaching

Collaborative divorce involves a commitment from parties to seek a non-litigated (no trial) agreement to the dissolution of their marriage. When children are involved, maximizing their emotional security and development requires thoughtful consideration of their unique and changing needs. Working with a neutral child specialist can help stressed parents create a written plan for co-parenting that focuses on what's right for their children, which may change over time. Participants in this time-limited process consistently report how valuable it is to the entire family, during the divorce and beyond.

Workshops and Retreats

Cultivating resilience and compassion within individuals and teams is a way to build strong leaders, organizations, and communities. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF), I incorporate the research of Dr. Brené Brown on courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy in workshops that connect people to their values and to the behaviors that support them. Brené's 2010 TEDxHouston Talk on "The Power of Vulnerability" is one of the top 10 most watched TED Talks of all time, which speaks to its resonance and relevance in our daily lives. When we make decisions and act in ways that are rooted in our values, the inevitable falls are less daunting. We learn, and rise, and inspire others to do the same.

The Daring Way™    Six week series, conducted in 2 hour sessions. Where do you want to SHOW UP| BE SEEN| LIVE BRAVE?

The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential curriculum based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. During the retreat, we’ll explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. We will examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that hold us back and identify the new choices and practices that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living.

Rising Strong™        Six week series, conducted in 2 hour sessions.

Rising Strong™ is based on the simple physics of vulnerability: if we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. This curriculum walks us through what it takes to get back up, and how owning our stories of struggle give us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

Dare to Lead™         16-hour curriculum; offered in various partial and full formats

Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program for leaders based upon 7 years of research by Dr. Brené Brown. It is designed for use in organizations wishing to cultivate trusting, innovative, values-aligned cultures in which "armor" is neither necessary nor rewarded, and individuals can maximize their gifts in the service of the mission. Offered in 1:1 coaching, retreats, and workshops in full or partial format according to team needs.
